Case Study 2
Capgemini University required a solution to deliver learning content to a geographically dispersed group of consultants as part of their knowledge management strategy. The traditional methods of eLearning and classroom training had to be supplemented for these consultants who were constantly travelling and spending a significant amount of time away from the office or on client sites.
These consultants typically found it difficult to access the network or to take online training. Capgemini recognized an increase in mobile device usage within their organization and the wider adoption of mobile learning programs in their sector.
In 2011 they moved from a standalone training strategy to create a ‘Learning Journey’ with various blended learning interventions. In 2012, they decided to add mobile learning to their delivery mix. Having never conducted a mobile learning project previously, they partnered with Intuition to work on strategy and content creation, as part of their knowledge management goals.
Intuition provided Capgemini with Intuition Advantage mobile, as the solution to support their mobile workforce’s day to day needs. This could be accessed via iPhone, Android and BlackBerry devices. All content is available on and off-line through Capgemini’s ‘ULearn’ mobile application and is fully tracked via a Learning Management System (LMS) back end.
